Pigeons are put into crates and then taken out one-hundred miles or more depending on how far out in the race season it is. The pigeons have GPS bands that clock in on a pad once they fly back into there loft.

Pigeon Terminology

Old Cock

A male pigeon over one year old.

Old Hen

A female pigeon over one year old.

Young Cock

A male pigeon under one year old.

Young hen

A female pigeon under one year old.

Squaker

A young pigeon that makes a squeak like noise, Squeakers will have yellow fuzz on them.

Young Bird

A pigeon under a year old and is older than a squeaker.
